PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM-LAN physical layer interface technology in which a characteristic impedance with respect to a transmission line is easily matched. SOLUTION: The hybrid integrated circuit to couple a line terminator to configure the ATM-LAN physical layer interface with a transmission line has a termination resistor RIO for characteristic impedance matching the transmission line in the vicinity of a 2nd pulse transformer 92 for reception and the coupling coefficient of the 2nd pulse transformer 92 is selected to be 0.9996 or over. Thus, an undesired inductance component and capacitive component in existence on a wiring from a secondary side of the 2nd pulse transformer 92 till the termination resistor R10 are substantially disregarded. Furthermore, the series resistance of the pulse transformer 92 is reduced and its dispersion is also suppressed.
