PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject fiber having sufficient resistance to molds, bacteria, algae and mites and further the biological resistance having a wide spectrum for respective organisms by applying a composition containing specific chemicals and an oil agent for the fiber thereto and fixing the chemicals thereon by heating. SOLUTION: This fiber having the biological resistance is obtained by applying chemicals (at least four kinds of compounds selected from nitrile-based compounds, pyridine-based compounds, haloalkylthio-based compounds, organic iodine-based compounds, thiazole-based compounds and benzimidazole-based compounds) together with an oil agent for the fiber thereto and fixing the chemicals in an amount of 0.01-5wt.% based on the fiber thereon by a heating step. The resultant fiber (a chemical or a synthetic fiber) has the resistance to sticking and proliferation of organisms such as molds, algae or bacteria and repellency for mites. |
