The distribution sockets (3) are mounted on a board (18) at one end of the box housing (4). Each socket has two square recesses in which are electrical contact pins (8, 9). Flexible two wire cables are fed into the rear part of each plug (2), where strain relief is supplied by bending the cable through a series of half compartments. The outer sheath of the cable is removed and the individual cores are connected to mating connectors (8, 9), which are encased in rectangular insulated tubes. When the plug is fully inserted, a securing clip (5) latches over a notch (6) on top of the socket. The plug can only be withdrawn when the rear end (F) of the catch is pressed down to release the catch.
