PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a flashing device and an image pickup device in the most suitable state by stopping flashing based on either a photometric means or a time measuring means and controlling the measured time setting the start of the flashing as a starting point based on selected shutter time. SOLUTION: This device is provided with the flashing device 10, a photometric device 10 and the photometric means 20 measuring the luminance of a subject, and also provided with the time measuring means setting the start time of the flashing of the flashing device as the starting point of time measuring, then a flashing stopping means outputs a flashing stopping signal to the flashing device based on output from either the photometric means or the time measuring means. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a manual selection means 1 for manually selecting the shutter time and further a time measuring control means 25 controlling the measured time of the time measuring means based on the selected result by the selection means 7. Then, the control is performed in the state most suitable for the intention of a photograplxer in accordance with the function of the flashing device. Namely, in the case of a stroboscope having excellent flashing stopping characteristic, the flashing is stopped, and in the case of a stroboscope having inferior stopping characteristic, the shutter time is set to be slow. |
