PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain sure optical coupling by providing a coupler capable of a multi-core configuration to a single core receptacle optical coupler, providing a function to lock the coupler, and providing the receptacle optical coupler whose multi-core coupler is configured with a dovetail groove joint. SOLUTION: In the assembling of the receptacle optical coupler 1, an optical axis of an optical fiber 10 in a ferule 9 is aligned via a lens 7 with respect to an LD element 3 and respective metal contact parts a spot-welded by YAG laser welding or the like. After the assembled components are inserted to a sleeve 12, the contact parts a fitted to a main body 13a and fixed by welding or the like to assemble a transmitter side optical coupler 1a. This is applied similarly to a receiver side optical coupler 1b with a PD element 14. Then the optical couplers 1a, 1b are arranged closely side by side and a joint 32 is fitted to dovetail grooves 31 opposite to each other on both side faces. The couplers 1a, 1b are jointed by the coupling of the joint 32 to form the receptacle optical coupler 1 incorporating the transmitter and the receiver. Thus, sure optical coupling is conducted in the inside of the receptacle 2. |
