PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge contaminated air in a low discharging amount of air and at a high collecting rate by a method wherein a range hood is provided with a suction port, extended along a deflector arranged so as to be slant with respect to a vertical line from a lower part toward an upper part and having a narrow width. SOLUTION: Ascending contaminated air, generated in a range 200, flows upward from a lower part toward an upper part along the lower surface of a deflector 2, arranged so as to be slant with respect to the vertical line, as shown by a large arrow sign α, then, is carried by high-speed air stream, flowing into a suction port 3, extended along the upper rim of the deflector 2 and having a narrow width. Thereafter, the contaminated air is sucked into a range hood through the suction port 3 and, then, is discharged through an air discharging duct, connected to an exhaust fan. The angle θ of inclination of the deflector 2 is set within the range of 30-45 degrees. The narrow suction port 3 is extended along only the upper rim of the deflector 2 whereby the area of the suction port 3 is small and the speed of air stream, which flows into the suction port 3 upon operation with a low discharging amount of air, becomes high while the amount of contaminated air, carried by the air stream, is increased. |
