The pile of papers are held by a fixed panel (4) and a fixing bar (5). The bar is fixed to the top of a tube (3) which is moved vertically by a handle (8). Two pairs of rollers (2) guide the tube and are fixed to a plate (1) which is fixed to the back of a writing desk. The handle engages on a projection (9) on the plate to hold the bar in a high position. The rollers are covered by a cap (10) which protects them. The plate can be fixed to the side or centre of the desk.
