The Film lighting industry makes extensive use of arc discharge lamps, better known as the HMI lamp. ( High Metal Iodide). These lamps range in wattage from the 575 W, 1.2 Kw, 2.5 Kw, 4 Kw, 6Kw, 12 Kw, to the 18 Kw. They are single phase 60 cycle, 110-220 V, A.C. powered, at least here in America. They also require a Ballast to drive them. Under certain conditions they cause a Flicker effect on the image. To solve this problem, the industry manufactures an Electronic F!icker Free Ballast using a Square wave. My invention uses a 3 Phase Powor system instead of the Single Phase system to drive these lamps, thus eliminating the need of creating a Square Wave.
