The seat (1) has its base and back (4a,4b) made in the form of a steel, aluminium or composition material structure (2), covered with a layer (3) of wood or plastic which is stuck to the structure (2) in a vacuum, using an epoxy-type adhesive. The upper surface of the structure (2) and the under-surface of the covering layer are coated with the resin adhesive and joined together on a support covered by a layer of polyethylene sheet, while the air beneath the sheet is extracted by a vacuum pump.
