PURPOSE:To permit discount of rent or account at late days to customers whom many articles are frequently lent to by providing a card with an accumulation area where the number of all lent articles and the frequency in lending of a customer are accumulated and stored and updating contents of the accumulation area by an adding means at the time of lending articles. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the lending operation, a member card 70 is inserted, and a card reader 26 reads out the number of cassettes lent at present and compares it with a limit number of cassettes to store the number of lent cassettes in a memory 21. If the number of cassettes lent at present is said limit number, lending is rejected, and the customer gives up borrowing to depress an end key or returns one of cassettes which he borrows at present. When the number of cassettes lent at present is smaller than said limit number, the slot selection input due to a cassette selecting key 25 is accepted. When the slot is effective, the cassette selected by a handller of a video cassette handling part 29 is taken out of the slot. The account processing of rent is performed in a cash handling unit 27 and the cassette is delivered to the customer. The member card 70 is returned to the customer after update like addition of contents of a storage area 76 of the number of all lent books and a storage area 77 of the number of cassettes lent at present. |
