PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the whole optical system, to form an eye ball image on an image sensor with high image resolution and to highly accurately detect the sight line information of eye ball by appropriately setting the constitution of lenses such as an eyepiece and a sight line lens. SOLUTION: The eyeball image from the eyeball 9 illuminated with infrared light emitted from an illuminating means 10 (light source reflection image, reflected image from an eye ball iris part, Purkinje image(cornea reflection image) etc.) is reflected by a luminous flux separating member 7 through the eyepiece 8, then, the image is formed on an image pickup means 12 through the sight line lens 11. Besides, position information on the eyeball images formed on the image pickup means 12 is detected. In this case an aspherical lens is separately used for the eyepiece 8 and the sight line lens 11 in order to counterbalance and correct both distortion generated when a finder image on a primary image forming surface 6 is viewed through the eyepiece 8 while shortening a distance between the eyepiece 8 and the primary image forming surface 6 and distortion generated when the eyeball image is formed on a solid-state image pickup element 12 by the sight line lens 11 through the eyepiece 8. |
