CREASE RESISTANT PROTEIN FIBER STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the application of excellent crease resistance to a protein fiber structure without deteriorating properties essential to a protein fiber such as a change in touch feeling or color tone thereof, an increase in weight or a reduction in hygroscopicity under high-humidity conditions and without interfering with safety. SOLUTION: Cross-linkages having disulfide bonds are introduced among and/or into molecules of a protein fiber structure to thereby afford the crease resistant protein fiber structure increased in the number of the cross-linkages. Cross-linking substituent groups such as thiol groups are introduced into the protein fiber structure and then bonded to introduce the cross-linkages having the disulfide bonds, etc., among and/or into the molecules of the protein fiber structure and thereby increase the cross-linkages when obtaining the crease resistant protein fiber structure.
