PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a granular photographic polymer superior in the dispersion stability of a coating liquid and prevented from precipitation and coagulation by using this polymer comprising specified repeating units. SOLUTION: This granular photographic polymer is composed of at least repeating units each represented by the formula in which R is a 1-6Calkyl or phenyl group or an H atom; L is an organic divalent bonding group; A is a group derived from at least one kind of ethylenically unsaturated monomer or derived from the ring opening polymerization of an N-containing heterocyclic compound and -(A)m- is soluble in water or a hydrophilic organic liquid; (m) is a number average polymerization degree of 2-200; and Y is a univalent organic group.
