<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium in which prescribed cupping value is set in order to be excellent in head touch, dropout and heat stain even if thickness of a nonmagnetic supporting body and thickness of a whole medium are thin, change of configuration (for example, a cupping value) of the magnetic recording medium is very small and excellent state of heat touch, etc., can be maintained even if the medium receives mechanical or physical influence in the lapse of time and generation of dropout and head stain are less. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium 1 having a magnetic layer 10 on one surface of the nonmagnetic supporting body 2 and a back coating layer 20 on another surface thereof, the nonmagnetic supporting body 2 has physical properties; 1300 to 1600kg/cm<2> Young's modulus in a longitudinal direction and a width direction and 3 to 10% breaking elongation. Further, the magnetic recording medium 1 has a projected cupping at the magnetic layer 10 side and the cupping value thereof is 0.02 to 0.20mm at 3.8mm width.</p> |
