PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent high density, high quality of image and water resistance of an image by forming an ink receiving layer contg. at least an alumina hydrate on the surface and inside of a non-woven fabric constituted by accumulating a number of continuous filaments. SOLUTION: An ink receiving layer 1 can be formed by coating and/or impregnating a coating liq. using alumina hydrate as a pigment on a non-woven fabric and the ink receiving layer 1 is formed not only on the surface of a non-woven fabric 2 being a base material but also to the inside and the boundary of the ink receiving layer 1 wherein the coating liq. is impregnated and the base material 2 wherein the coating liq. is not impregnated is not necessarily clear. As the base material, a structure wherein continuous filaments are accumulated being so-called generally non-woven fabric is used. In the recording medium using an alumina hydrate like this, e.g. as the alumina hydrate has positive electric charge, fixing of a dye with negative electric charge in the ink is good to obtain an image with good color development and there exists no problem on brown discoloration of an image made of black ink and light resistance and the quality of image of a full color image can be improved.
