<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio apparatus by which a distance up to a partner station can be measured simply, by which one's address or the like can be confirmed and which is provided with a distance-detecting function. SOLUTION: When a distance measurement is requested, a modulator 32 generates a tone signal requesting the distance measurement, and a modulator 13 modulates carrier waves via the tone signal so as to be transmitted via an antenna 10. Then, a processing part 34 for distance measurement judges whether a reception signal is a response signal from a partner station or not. When the reception signal is judged to be the response signal, a distance up to the partner station is measured on the basis of the time difference between a transmission timing and a reception timing, and the distance is displayed. When the processing part 34 for distance measurement judges that the reception signal is a signal requesting a distance measurement from the partner station, it generates a signal responding to the signal. The modulator 32 generates a tone signal based on the response signal, and it modulates carrier waves on the basis of the tone signal so as to be transmitted via the antenna 10.</p> |
