Manual drive mechanism for lifting strut

The manual drive gear is for a lifting strut (10), and incorporates a spindle (17) to which a winding handle may be attached. The spindle may be connected to a second shaft via a two-speed gear in a first closed housing (13). A first bevel wheel on the second shaft meshes with a second bevel wheel and drives a vertical shaft which works the lifting mechanism. A motor (35) may be added to the manual drive mechanism. It is mounted on a second closed housing (31) attached to the front of the first closed housing. A first spur gear (36) inside the second housing meshes with a second spur gear on the drive spindle.
