<p>A winding unit for unwinding two or more webs of material from spools, aligning the two or more webs of material into a single multi-ply web, optionally further processing the multi-ply web by calendering, cutting, gluing and the such, and then rewinding the multi-ply web onto a further spool. The winding unit comprises at least two unwinding spools (1, 2, 3), one rewinding spool (4), a driving means (14) to rotate one of the spools, further processing units (6, 7) as required, and a rail means (5) on which the spools are situated. The spools are frictionally connected to neighbouring spools such that a first spool, as it rotates, will cause the neighbouring spools to rotate.</p> |
