PURPOSE:To improve storage stability of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by treating a silver halide emulsion with ion exchange resins in a process for preparing the silver halide emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion is treated with the ion exchange resins, such as anion, cation, amphoteric, and/or chelate ion exchange resins, batchwise or continuously, before coating a support with the silver halide emulsion of silver halide, such as silver bromide, silver iodobromide, or silver iodochlorobromide, is prepared, thus permitting nonreacted chemical sensitizer and sensitizing adjuvant to be removed by said treatment using said ion exchange resins, accordingly, the silver halide photographic sensitive material to be enhanced in storage stability and deterioration with the lapse of time to be prevented. |
