PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost photoreceptor not affected by oxidizing geses such as ozone and NOx by limiting the gaseous oxygen permeation factor of an electric charge transferring layer in a process in which the time from electrifi cation to development is specified. SOLUTION: In a photoreceptor obtd. by successively forming a middle layer, an electric charge generating layer and an electric charge transferring layer on an electrically conductive substrate and used in a process in which the time from electrification to development is >=0.5sec, the gaseous oxygen permeation factor of the electric charge transferring layer is regulated to <=i2.00×10<-11> cm<3> .cm/cm<2> .s.cmHg. The process is an image forming process using an electrophotographic photoreceptor and including electrification, exposure, development, transfer and cleaning stages. The electric charge transferring layer is formed as follows; an electric charge transferring material and a bonding resin are dissolved or dispersed in a proper solvent, applied on the electric charge generating layer and dried.
