PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device in which moving distance of a carriage is made to a minimum in the case of performing preliminary discharge in the outside of a recording region during recording and a good image record is enabled without causing reduction in recording speed. SOLUTION: In this ink-jet recording device, a plurality of recording heads 1 are arranged right and left and placed on carriages 3. In this case, ink receivers 5 (5R, 5L) are provided in the positions opposable to the recording heads 1 on both sides of a recording region. In the case of performing preliminary discharge through the recording heads 1, the recording head of at least the leftmost end uses the ink receiver 5L on the left side and the recording head of at least the rightmost end uses the ink receiver 5R on the right side. |
