摘要 This invention concerns devices for time division multiplexing of electrical and/or optical digital signals in order to synchronize or retard an optical or electrical digital signal or convert serial electrical or optical signals to parallel optical signals. For this the input signals are taken into first bistable laser diodes BLD1, BLD2, ., which at the same time are provided with a first time signal CLK1. The digital information which is stored in the bistable laser diodes is taken via optical insulators 7 to bistable laser diodes BLD'1, BLD'2, ., in a second set. In this way a number of stages in an optically changing device are obtained, where each stage is connected with the subsequent stage by an optical signal via further optical insulators 9. The laser diodes in the second set are controlled by a second time signal CLK2. With a suitable choice of time signals a displacement is obtained of the input information in stages from one stage to the subsequent stage. A time division multiplexed optical signal is obtained as output signal from the laser diodes in the last stage composed of the input parallel signals and a synchronized and retarded correspondence to an input electrical or optical signal respectively from the laser diodes in each stage and a correspondence to the incoming signal converted to parallel form. The invention also concerns a master/slave flip-flop from which the abovementioned devices are constructed. <IMAGE>
