<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a diameter expanding jig move onto a plastic sheath and reduce the whole length of a joint, by a method wherein composition which is obtained by adding a specific content of silane-treated calcium carbonate toα-olefin system elastomer as reinforcing agent is employed as the material of which the insulating rubber part of a pre-molded rubber molding element. SOLUTION: Silane-treated calcium carbonate is added to the base resin, particularly toα-olefin system elastomer of the material of which the insulating rubber part of a pre-molded rubber molding element as reinforcing agent. With this constitution, the pre-molded rubber molding element recovers satisfactorily from the given elongation strain and, even if a diameter expanding jig is made to retreat onto a plastic sheath, which is impossible with the conventional constitution, the stable tightening force of the pre-molded rubber molding element can be obtained after a cable joint is completed. In order to obtain a sufficient tightening force, it is recommended to add 30wt.pt.-80wt.pt. of the silane-treated calcium carbonate to 100wt.pt. of. the base resin.</p> |
