摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generating device quickly started and conformable to load fluctuation by purifying the residual hydrogen in a solid polymer type fuel cell to which a reformed gas is supplied to form pure hydrogen, compressing and storing the pure hydrogen to supply it to the cell. SOLUTION: In a solid polymer type fuel cell generating device, a hydrogen compression part 3 has an electrochemical element using a solid polymer electrolytic film. Pure hydrogen is supplied from a high pressure hydrogen tank 4 to the solid polymer type fuel cell 1 to generate electricity. The hydrogen which is the residual fuel exhaust gas in the fuel cell 1 is supplied to a reformer having a reformable part having a variable capacity. The non-reforming part of the reformer 2 is heated to increase the capacity of the reformable part, whereby the reformability is extended. When the external load is reduced, the capacity of the reformable part is reduced to contract the reformability. Further, when the external load is reduced, the excessive power in the fuel cell 1 is supplied to a hydrogen purifying compressor 3, the resulting pure hydrogen is stored in the high pressure hydrogen tank 4, and the capacity of the reformable part of the reformer 2 is also reduced to reduce the reformability.
