PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an airbag to relieve an impact onto the whole upper body part of a driver in a head-on collision by wiring signal transmission lines for transmitting an explosion signal to a squib for airbag inflation and a squib for piston operation at two points from a G sensor. SOLUTION: A squib 13 for piston operation is inserted between a cup 10 which involves the sealing member 11 of a lock pin 7 and a piston 9 sliding in a cylinder 7a, and an air vent hole 12 is provided at the end part of the cylinder 7a. The cylinder 7a is fitted onto a lower shaft 3b secured onto a lower plate 5, and in the vicinity of the lower shaft 3b, a G sensor 15 is provided, which generates a signal for inflating squib provided at airbags 2, 8 and the squib 13 for piston operation is provided. The G sensor 15 involves a delay means, and signal transmission lines are wired, with an electric circuit, to respective airbags 2, 8 and the squib 13 for piston operation. It is thus possible to relieve an impact onto the whose upper body part of a driver. |
