<p>A skate with in-line rollers (6, 6') comprising a boot (2) with a sole (3) connected to an upper plate (4) of a frame (5) on which the skate rollers are mounted and which includes a fixed braking block (13) secured to a rear portion of the frame (5) and frictionally engageable with the ground to cause effective braking when the front rollers (6) are raised by the skater. The braking block (13) is combined with decelerating means (17) simultaneously engageable with the rearmost roller (6') of the skate (1) and the inner surface (13a) of said braking block (13), and positionable therebetween when the skater tilts a hinged portion (7) of the boot (2) backwards without raising the rollers (6). Said hinged portion (7) is connected to said decelerating means (17) via a linkage (18) so that the skater may selectively decelerate without raising the rollers (6), or cause effective braking by raising the rollers (6) so that the braking block (13) frictionally engages the ground.</p> |
