The splicing means carries out bonding of two optical wave guides (2, 8) in an optical component (1), a fibre section of a first optical wave guide (2) already having been securely inserted into said optical component by the manufacturer. The splicing means is provided with an adjustment member (3) which is guided in a stationary holder (4) of the splicing means to deflect slightly in the longitudinal direction of the optical component (1). Precise axial displacement of the component (1) is carried out by an eccentric shaft (11). Consequently, it is possible to adjust the internal fibre end of the optical wave guide (2) exactly to the tips of two welding electrodes (7) of the slicing means.
