PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, exhibiting a blood triglyceride concentration rise-inhibiting action and useful for preventing and treating hyperlipemia and arteriosclerosis in the forms of blood triglyceride concentration rise-inhibiting agents, functional foods, feeds, etc. SOLUTION: This new peptide has an amino acid sequence of the formula, exhibits a blood triglyceride concentration rise-inhibiting action, and is useful for preventing and treating the obesity and hyperlipemia of persons or animals and circulatory diseases, such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis, accompanied by the obesity and hyperlipemia, and for improving the flesh qualities of livestock and cultured fishes, etc. The peptide is obtained by sufficiently hemolyzing bovine fresh erythrocytes with water, controlling the solution with phosphoric acid to a pH of 2-8, treating the solution with a protease at 50 deg.C for 3hr, heating the reaction solution at 80 deg.C for 30min to stop the reaction. neutralizing the reaction solution, filtering the neutralized solution, subjecting the filtrate to a gel filtration. further successively purifying the filtrate with an ion exchange method, an ultrafiltration method, a reversed phase chromatography, etc. |
