The present invention discloses a plant feeding device having a water container and a water conduit connected to said container by a first end thereof. A second water conduit end is adapted so as to be placed adjacent the plant roots which are to be fed. The water conduit comprises a water permeable plug having water soluble food for plants with which water can be percolated through the conduit from the container to the roots. Food for plants so dissolved, along with air and insects, are prevented from moving to the roots. The method includes placing the second plant feeder conduit end under the roots of a newly transplanted plant, to percolate water from the container towards said roots through water soluble food and to prevent air/insects from moving towards the roots through said conduit.
