PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material good in head matching properties, having gradation recording properties excellent in bluish black developed hue and having a sufficient water resistance by adding at least one of compds. represented by a plurality of specific formulae being a coupler and a leuco dye to a protected color forming layer in a specific ratio on a solid basis. SOLUTION: A thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a coupler and a protective layer are successively applied to at least the single surface of a support composed of polyolefinic resin synthetic paper and, as the coupler, at least one kind of a compd. is selected from compds. represented by formulae I, II. A compounding amt. of 3,3-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl)-6- diimethylaminophthalide being a blue color forming type leuco dye is set to 1-25wt.% on a solid basis with respect to an amt. of 3-(N-methyl-N-cyclohexyl) amino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane being a black color forming leuco dye. By this constitution, a thermal recording material high in whiteness, good in head matching properties and having gradation recording properties excellent in bluish black developed hue and sufficient water resistance is obtained. |
