PURPOSE:To improve safety and operability by canceling control by a control means in a high speed traveling mode, stopping the control by the control means during the operation of the control means in a street traveling mode and returning to the control by the control means again with the cancel of a braking means. CONSTITUTION:When a set switch 11 is operated to execute the control of a distance between cars, a setting vehicle speed set by a vehicle speed setting switch 10 for constant speed traveling is read. When it is detected by the output of a brake switch 9 that a foot stepping pedal 7 is operated and a high speed traveling mode P1 is operated, a throttle valve driving means 12 closes a throttle valve and operation to control the distance between the cars is canceled. When a street traveling mode switch P2 is operated, the throttle valve is closed by the throttle valve driving means 12 during a period that the foot pedal 7 is operated. When the operation of the foot pedal 7 is canceled, the control of the distance between the cars is executed. |
