PURPOSE:To obtain the ozone cracking catalyst which is inexpensive and has excellent low-temp. cracking activity by using hydrous ferric hydroxide powder which is striate and exhibits a bamboo-leaf-like shape of specific characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The hydrous ferric hydroxide powder which has the striate and superfine structure, is specified to 0.2 to 1.0mum major axis diameter, is specified to 3 to 10 axial ratio (major axis diameter/minor axis diameter) and has the bamboo-leaf-like shape is used as the ozone cracking catalyst. The specific surface area is extremely large if this catalyst is used. Further, the catalyst has the bamboo-leaf-like shape and is rounded and, therefore, the sticking and superposing of the particles to and on each other are lessened and the large voids and good gas permeability are obtd. The ozone is, therefore, cracked at a low cost and ordinary temp. |
