PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a prosthetic appliance incorporating the type of the masticatory movement of upper and lower dental arches for ensuring the movement without any feeling of physical disorder, as well as for ensuring an optimum shape for the movement. SOLUTION: On a computer screen, upper and lower dental arches are caused to perform a masticatory movement with a prosthetic appliance mounted, so as to avoid the interference of opposite teeth with each other at a step S3, and during this process, a pressure parameter acting on the contact surface of teeth in contact with each other is calculated at a step S3. Thereafter, the dental arches are made to perform a masticatory movement in the same condition, with the prosthetic appliance mounted at a step S5 and at this process, a pressure parameter acting on the contact surface of the teeth in contact with each other is calculated at the same step S5. Then. the shape of the prosthetic appliance is changed on the basis of the two calculated parameters. |
