METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF CATALYSTS FOR FORMALDEHYDE SELECTIVE OXIDATION

The method is used in the chemical industry for the manufacture of formaldehyde. By it oxide catalysts are made for the oxidation of methanol having high catalytic activity and selectivity and lower costs. By the method the tungsten is introduced in the form of aqueous solution of sodium wolframate during sedimentation or in the form of ammonium wolframate after the sedimentation and during the rinsing of the sedimentation pH is maintained from 1.5 to 1.6 by the addition of nitric acid and by washing with acidified distilled water.
