The carrier has a fixing to an item of clothing or other support. It can be formed of two plates (1,2) connected by a spring (3) which exerts a closure pressure between the two plates. One of the plates can have feet on its interior face (5,6) positioned in opposition and connected by an elastic section (4) to receive one of the branches of the spectacles. Alternatively a semi-cylindrical formation can be attached to the arm of the spectacles and formed of two identical sections between which the arm of the spectacles can be fixed.
