Pentafluorosulphanyl isoxazole and 2-cyano-1,3-dione derivatives of formula (Ia)-(Ic), their salts and metal complexes, are new. R1C(O)CH(CN)C(O)X (Ic) X = a group of formula (i); R = H or CO2R3; R1 = 1-6C alkyl (optionally substituted by at least one halogen) or 3-6C cycloalkyl (optionally substituted by at least one R4 or halogen); R2 = H, 1-6C alkyl (substituted by at least one OR5), 3-6C cycloalkyl, NO2, CN, CO2R5, NR5R6, S(O)pR7, O(CH2)mOR5, COR5, N(R8)SO2R7, OR7, OH, OSO2R7, (CR9R10)tSOqR7a, CONR5R6, N(R8)C(Z)=Y, (CR9R10)NR8R11 or R4; n = 0-3; m = 1-3; p, q = 0-2; t = 1-4; R3 = 1-6C alkyl (optionally substituted by at least one halogen, OR5, CO2R5, S(O)pR7, phenyl or CN) or phenyl (optionally substituted by at least one halogen, OR5 or R4); R4 = up to 6C alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl each optionally substituted by at least one halogen; R5, R6 = H or R4; R7, R7a = R4, 3-6C cycloalkyl, or (CH2)w(phenyl optionally substituted by 1-5 R12); w = 0-1; R8 = H, up to 10C alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl (each optionally substituted by at least one halogen), 3-6C cycloalkyl, (CH2)w(phenyl optionally substituted by 1-5 R12), or OR13; R9, R10 = H or up to 6C alkyl optionally substituted by at least one halogen; R11 = S(O)qR7 or C(Z)=Y; R12 = H, 1-3C alkyl (optionally substituted by at least one halogen), NO2, CN, S(O)pR3 or OR5; Y = O or S; Z = R4, NR8R13, NR8NR13R14, SR7 or OR7; and R13, R14 = R8. (Ic) is optionally an enolic tautomer. Also claimed is a composition comprising (Ia), (Ib) and/or (Ic) with a diluent or carrier and/or a surface active agent.
