PURPOSE:To enable the direction of a tunnel drilling machine to be corrected in a direction along a tunnel drilling schedule line. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal and vertical directions of a tunnel drilling schedule line at a current position and a drilling scheduled position which is away from it by a certain distance are displayed on a CRT screen 9 with a cross line. Then, the amount of displacement in horizontal direction and that in vertical direction of the current position of a tunnel drilling machine for the schedule line are displayed on the above CRT screen 9 with a point and further the amount of predicted displacement in horizontal and vertical directions when the tunnel excavation machine is excavated by a certain distance from the current position on the machine axis are displayed with a point on the CRT screen 9. The points in horizontal direction and those in vertical direction are connected with straight lines, thus enabling the direction of excavation for the schedule line to be predicted visually.
