A catalyst useful for the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons is produced by reacting a compound of the formula AlXyR(3 - y) , where X is halogen, R is a hydrocarbon radical and y is 1, 3/2, or 2, except, with a carrier comprising aluminum oxide and boron oxide. |
