PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum alloy sheet material excellent in spectacular properties in which appearance is stably excellent since the color tone of the surface is black close to that of a roof material made of zinc, furthermore, the color-developing of the metallic luster can be suppressed by low-cost surface treatment and, preferably, workability and scratching properties can be improved. SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy sheet material excellent in spectacular properties is the one in which composite coating film (eutectoid coating film) contg. metallic Fe, metallic Zn and Si oxide, and the balance impurities is formed on the surface, and the coating weight of this eutectoid coating film is regulated to 0.01 to 3.0(g/m<2> ), and the reflectance of the surface is regulated to <=10%. Moreover, another aluminum alloy sheet material excellent in spectacular properties is the one in which Zn-contg. coating film is formed on the surface of an aluminum alloy sheet, and the L value of the color tone of the surface is regulated 20 to 70, the (a) value is regulated to -4 to +4, the (b) value is regulated to -10 to +10, and the reflectance is regulated to <=15%. At this time, it is preferable that the surface roughness Ra of the aluminum alloy sheet is regulated to 0.1 to 2μm, and the Zn-contg. coating film is formed on the aluminum alloy sheet by the coating weight of 0.1 to 30(g/m<2> ).
