PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain master batch type black-colored polyester fiber excellent in smoothness on the fiber surface, reduced in abrasion of parts such as rollers and guides and small in deterioration of its strength at break. SOLUTION: Carbon black having an average primary particle size of 5-25mμ, an oil absorption of 30-80ml/100g, specific surface area of 150-300m<2> is added to polyester in an amount of 0.3-1.0wt.% to give the objective black-colored polyester fiber. This polymer forms fiber which does not rough its surface and shows good durability of itself.
