This invention provides a method for reducing spatter in CO2 protective welding and pulsate wire feeder thereto. Utilizing the property of droplet transfer during the wire regularly pushes the droplet to the molten pool in the pulsate wire feed, the current is reduced to a low value at a set point before the droplet transfer, the current is maintained at the said low value until or after the end of the droplet transfer, then the current is increased to a high or normal value. As the droplet transfer happens with the low current, the spatter is reduced without changing the current accurately and rapidly according to the state of the arc. With its simple and effective method, the said spatter-reducing method can not only control the short circuit transfer, but also be used for the non-short circuit transfer, and is especially suitable for the welding with high current and voltage. |
