PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal separation apparatus eliminating the stagnation of a mixture on a belt and high in durability. SOLUTION: In this metal separation apparatus constituted so that a belt 45 is provided between belt tensioning drums 43.44 under tension and the rotor 46 having permanent magnets provided to the peripheral surface thereof arranged in the belt tensioning drum 44 is rotational driven while the belt 45 is driven so as to be circulated by rotationally driving the belt tensioning drum 43 to separate a metal such as a ferromagnetic metal from the mixture supplied to the belt 45, the drive mechanism of the belt tensioning drum 44 and the rotor 46 is constituted so that the rotary direction of the rotor 46 is made reverse to that of the belt tensioning drum 44 having the rotor 46 arranged thereto.
