<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a paper feed roll that is high in surface sizing accuracy, no problem on the sticking of paper dust or the like and excellent in paper feeding performance by installing a plating layer with an abrasive grain with specific grain size on the surface of a metal core roll. SOLUTION: Electroless nickel-composite plating is applied to a pretreated stainless steel shaft 11 in use of a nickeling solution in which an abrasive grain 12 of alumina of 10 to 80μm, if desirable 20 to 50μm in grain size is dispersed, forming a plating layer of 2 to 25μm in thickness. In a paper feed roll with this abrasive grain content plating layer 13 made up like that, the abrasive grain 12 of the alumina or the like is attached tight to a surface of the shaft 11 by dint of the composite plating layer 13, and a part of the abrasive grain 12 comes to a state of being projected from the plating layer 13. Consequently, such a paper feed roll like this is high in surface sizing accuracy, no problem on the sticking of paper dust or the like and excellent in paper feeding performance intrinsically.</p> |
