PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disperse white illuminating light beams with one pair of prism sheets so as to irradiate prescribed positions when improving the utilizing efficiency of a back light for liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: An optical filter dispersing incident white illuminating light beams consists of a prism sheet A dispersing the illuminating light beams into light beams having respective wavelength distributions of red, green and blue and a prism B expanding the dispersed angle more and also changing an optical path so that light beams are made incident on a lenticular lens for condensing light beams of the dispersed three color beams in positions of corresponding pixels for picture display alomst at right angles.
