A crash barrier (1) designed to be mounted between two supporting elements (2) beside a road, and including an overlapping portion (1.a, 1.b) at each end for securing the crash barrier to the adjacent crash barriers (1', 1") by means of members (5) inserted into registering through-holes (3, 4) in the respective barriers, as well as securing said crash barrier to the supporting elements (2) by means of members inserted into registering holes (8) provided for this purpose in each barrier. One of the overlapping portions (1.a) comprises at least one projecting tab (6) extending along the longitudinal axis of the barrier and towards the middle thereof, whereas the other overlapping portion (1.b) comprises an aperture (7) located on the generatrix of the projecting tab (6) and engageable by the projecting tab (6) of the adjacent crash barrier (1').
