<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to inexpensively and easily obtain the soundboard of a piano having an excellent acoustic characteristic by forming the soundboard of plywood formed by using an albizzia material for an inside core material and adhering decorative boards to the front and rear surfaces thereof. SOLUTION: The soundboard 20 of the piano is made of the plywood formed by making adhere the decorative boards 22 to the front and rear surfaces of the inside core material 21 consisting of an albizzia material. The inside core material 21 is formed by joining plural sheets of veneers consisting of the albizzia material by means of finger joints 23 in a longitudinal direction and joining the veneers in a lateral direction. The grain direction (arrow A direction) of the inside core material 21 is aligned to the longitudinal direction of the veneers. Pines, such as spruce materials and Yezo spruce, are used as the decorative materials 22 which are adhered to the inside core material 21 by approximately paralleling the grain direction thereof with the grain direction of the inside core material. If the inside core material 21 and the decorative materials 22 are adhered by paralleling the grain directions of both, the anisotropy in the fiber direction and the direction orthogonal therewith is made distinct like a solid soundboard.
