<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to suppress the occurrence of display defects in spite of long-term continuous driving by aligning the directions of the pretilts of unit orientation regions to one direction, varying the direction from the direction of the pretilts of the other unit orientation regions in contact with the unit orientation regions with lines and providing the respective unit orientation regions with at another oriented films including at least one pixels. SOLUTION: The arrows 17 indicated within pixel electrodes 11 indicate the rubbing direction of the common electrode side substrate arranged to face an active element side substrate. Namely, the regions corresponding to the two pixel electrodes on the left side of the upper stage in Fig. and the two on the right side of the lower stage are rubbed from the lower left of Fig. toward the upper right. The regions corresponding to the other pixels in Fig. are rubbed from the upper right toward the lower left of Fig. Impurity ions gather at every unit region of the unified rubbing direction in the liquid crystal display panel. In such a case, the size of the unit regions is for two pixels and, therefore, the quantity of the gathered impurity ions is extremely slight.</p> |
