PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atomic reactor starting area monitoring device improved in reliability and working efficiency of maintenance inspection by satisfying the arrangement conditions related to the reactor output monitoring function of a reactor starting area monitor detector in a reactor core, and effectively increasing the number of power source systems and bypass switches to increase the number of channels of simultaneous bypass. SOLUTION: In this reactor starting area monitor device, eight reactor starting area monitor detectors 3 having monitoring ability of at least the reactor core radius are arranged on the periphery and the vicinity of the center by fours within the reactor core 1, and connected to different power sources of four systems in sets of two in the periphery and near the center exceeding the reactor center on the radial line from the reactor center. All the reactor starting area monitor detectors 3 are also divided into three sets, and connected to three bypass switches 11a-11c.
