PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform it to a user as to whether or not sinal processing conducted by a digital video cassette recorder DVCR is for the PALplus system and to allow the user to select whether or not vertical resolution reinforcement is to be conducted. SOLUTION: When a reproduction section 50 gives WSS data to a microcomputer 10 at reproduction, a reproduction signal is discriminated to be a PALplus signal and an LED 11 is lighted. Thus, the reproduction of the PALplus signal is informed to the user. A signal generating circuit 220 displays a menu screen for function selection on a monitor under the control of the microcomputer 10. The user sets ON/OFF of a helper killer by using a remote controller to select a function based on the menu. Thus, even when the PALplus signal is fed to the monitor having no provision for the PALplus system, an image fault due to a helper signal is not caused. |
