PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily use a computer in terms of human engineering by arranging a cursor control part whose periphery is surrounded by plural keys in a housing held in a static state during an operation. SOLUTION: This instruction input type input device 20 has a first control part 24 and a pair of keys 26 and 28. A touch pad forms the cursor control part 24. One key 26 is a C-form and the other key 28 is formed in an inverted C-form. They are arranged to surround the first cursor control part 24. Since the keys extend along the two sides of the cursor control part 24, a user can easily perceive the keys with a hand touch and the keys are prevented from being erroneously depressed at the time of operating the cursor control part 24.
